I spent several days in Paducah during the AQS quilt show and of course had to help the textile industry with their stimulus plan. At Eleanor Burn's tent I purchased her "Magic Vines" book and fusables to go with it.
To anyone that has never been to the AQS quilt show in Paducah you need to go at least once. OK, once may not be enough. I went last year for the first time, my friends called me a "virgin". I was a bit overwhelmed and felt like I had to rush to see everything. This year I had a better feeling as to what to see and do. I saw Kaffe Fassett and saw Caryl Bryer Fallert at her Bryerpatch studio. Her work is amazing.
I have been looking for fabric with dice in it to make something for our BUNCO group and was lucky enough to find two fat quarters. Also found some nice fabric for some quick placematts.
I also found some blacks and tans for a quilt pattern I bought last year. Not sure when I will start this project but I now have the fabric when I'm ready.
We went to the AQS book sale. I could not pass up on this book. I want to try my hand at some applique one of these days and this one looked like a good one. AQS has several tables of book for $6.00 or $5.00 each if you buy 6 or more. They have a book for almost anything but you have to have time to dig along with a number of other gals looking for a book they can't live without.
Oh, there is a bit more. I liked this pattern and just had to have it.
Not finished yet. I purchased this redwork stamping.
